With the horrors of COVID-19 shifting out of mind of the general public and media, the World Health Organisation has decided it not enough of a public issue to "give a shit".
While hundreds of thousands of active cases continue to populate nations worldwide, and the risk of catching the virus being still very present, the WHO has deemed it unimportant in the mind of the public, and therefore in the mind of the UN.
"Well we're no longer getting flak for not making enough vaccines, or too many mask mandates, or travel bans- or whatever the fuck. So who cares?"
When asked what the WHO thought about the situation in developing nations who still had little access to fight the potentially deadly effects of the virus, Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus simply said "well fuck 'em".
"Nobody gives a shit about the 'pandemic' anymore, so why should we?"
These statements follow an immediate and broad lifting of restrictions and requirements worldwide, which opens the world to much of the situation pre-COVID. While daily case numbers and deaths have been on a steady decline of late, these new drastic measures could lead to a rapid increase of spreading in countries with varying vaccine mandates.
"I mean its probably endemic now- probably... And besides, why don't we move onto the next thing? Monkeypox or some shit.."
