Censorship taken too far?
Mass outrage emerged today as the discovery was made that the acclaimed Fart Network website has been blocked at schools, and probably China. “Where does it stop you know? First they censor Disney and now the news??” said a concerned reader. “China is censoring what?” said another. It seems there are no boundaries to what can be censored now, with many beginning to question censorship altogether. “There used to be a day where you could watch anything on YouTube or find whatever you wanted on Google. Cleary those days are gone.” We here at Fart Network are strongly against censorship, unless it is that of the Chinese, which we can sympathize with. In fact, we are currently in discussion with Chinese censorship officials to the possibility of having our site uncensored, if we adhere to their censorship rules of course.
This news has also sparked a disconcert amongst parents, who are questioning the learning censorships schools are beginning to enforce. "It makes you wonder how bad it has gotten to the point where they have to censor the news" said free speech activist Elon Musk, who is close friends with Fart Network. Calls to reform the education censorship system have come in waves amidst this recent news with parents left to wonder what their children are actually learning. "It's a slippery slope when we ban our kids from reading the news, but then telling them what to learn- how dare they!"
The department of education has responded stating that "certain sites are blocked to ensure the safety and comfort of students. Sites that are blocked may be inappropriate, unsafe or contain harmful content that we cannot risk student exposure to." Sure, whatever.
